The interaction of war and art is among the favourite topics of the National Museum of Military History. And not simply because our vast art collections feature many masterpieces from prominent artists, but because artists, like miner’s canaries, point out how far war transcends humanity. Their works overflow with the pain and the sores of war; they are a cry for peace and love for and between people. They say NO to war in many ways. The current exhibition presents one of them. One will find no war scenes or heroes, but the splendour of nature and life as an antithesis to war, as a voice rising against the pain, the wounds, and the destruction of humanity and humankind.
In the exhibition, opened through the end of January 2025, are featured works of Alexandar Mutafov, Boris Denev, Vladimir Dimitrov – The Master, Georgi Mashev , Ivan Valchanov, Konstantin Shtarkelov, Nikola Kozhuharov, Nikola Tanev, Rayko Alexiev, Stoyan Raynov.
