The educational programme “Worthy of Freedom” presents a fascinating reading of the role of Bulgarians in the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878), enriching knowledge about the Bulgarian Volunteer Corps, volunteer detachments and the various forms of logistical support, in which the Bulgarian population participated was massively involved – supplying food and provisions, engagement in translation, intelligence and courier services and provision of medical assistance.
During the museum tour, immersed in the authentic atmosphere of the period, participants will see original personal belongings of people who took part in the war and learn more about their fate.
In the game module students consolidate what they have learned by competing in a quiz in teams. Younger age groups are challenged to discover the correct answers with the help of guiding images.
