The educational programme “On the Path to Unity” pieces together the historical puzzle of the heroic events that led to the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia and its steadfast defence during the Serbo-Bulgarian War. It introduces students to the essence of the Bulgarian national question and the aspiration to liberate and unite the lands, inhabited by Bulgarians.
The museum tour is combined with the game part, in which participants are challenged to use their intuition and logic to complete missions related to remarkable historical figures who took part in the Serbo-Bulgarian War. The game “Guardians of the Unification” immerses participants in challenging experiences that bring them closer to the roles of different positions on the battlefield and to the everyday life of the period. The outcome of the war will also depend on the decisions they make.
