The National Museum of Military History is the first museum to visit the new location of the Historical Museum – Petrich
From May 26, residents and guests of Petrich will have the opportunity to see the exhibition of the National Museum of Military History “Balkan wars through the eyes of the artist”. It is the first visiting exhibition at the new location of the Historical Museum in the town.
The exhibition presents paintings by prominent masters of the brush such as Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master, Boris Denev, Alexander Mutafov, Konstantin Shtarkelov, Stanyo Stamatov, Ivan Valchanov and Todor Bakardzhiev. The paintings represent the reality during the Balkan and the First World Wars, refracted through the mentality and palette of Bulgarian artists, through their humanism, opposing the war. The exhibition also includes photographs that treat the theme of the people’s fate who left their native places and came to free Bulgaria. The history of the town of Petrich itself is closely intertwined with the fate of the Bulgarian refugees.
The exhibition “Balkan wars through the eyes of the artist” can be seen at the Historical Museum – Petrich, until the end of July.
