Music, Cinema and Interactive Challenges at the Night of Museums at the National Museum of Military History

On 23 May 2026 (Saturday), from 18:00 to 22:00, the National Museum of Military History takes part in the European initiative “Night of Museums”. With free admission to the outdoor exhibition and the permanent chronological exhibition, the Museum opens doors for an evening of history, memory, and art, in which visitors can explore some of the most treasured testimonies to Bulgarian military history and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Museum during its unusual evening hour.
Within the European Night of Museums, the interactive game “Mission 110” challenges visitors to transform their tour of the exhibition into an engaging and different experience, aided by a smartphone and a QR code. The game highlights the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the National Museum of Military History and places the anniversary accent at the heart of an experience connected to the Museum’s history and memory.
The festivities at the NMMH begin at 19:00, with a performance of the Representative Brass Band of the National Guards Unit, including popular pieces from its repertoire. At 21:00, the traditional night cinema offers screening of the fourth episode of “Remember the War 1915–1918” – a documentary for the 1916 Tutrakan epic. The documentary series is produced by the Information Centre of the Ministry of Defence, and co-produced by the National Museum of Military History.
