105th anniversary of the National Museum of Military History campaign launch
In the year of its 105th anniversary, the National Museum of Military History (The NMMH) launches the “105 years together”. It seeks to collect mementos from the visits to the NMMH, messages, congratulations and recommendations, submitted as photos or videos by our best friends – the visitors, who inspire us daily to be better at our job and to seek out new, engaging ways to present the historical past. The goal of the initiative is to demonstrate that in times of physical distancing, good memories and smiles have the power to pilot us through the turbulences, and restore us together.
All who wish to contribute to the “105 years together” campaign and become part of the Museum’s celebration are welcome to send their photos or videos to the NNMH’s electronic mail – nvim.pr@gmail.com, by the end of June. The video messages and images will become part of a celebratory video, released on the birthday of the NMMH – July 4th, and the pictures and video messages will be shared with our visitors and followers on our webpage and on our social media accounts.
We remind you that the Museum was established on July 4, 1916, when, at the height of World War One, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bulgarian Army Gen. Nikola Zhekov issued Ordinance No. 391. This act gave start to the collection of valuables – testaments to the most momentous events in Bulgaria’s military history, and established the foundations upon which, over the next century, the Military Museum would grow.
