The President of the National Assembly and the Minister of Defence inaugurated the exhibition „The little man in the great war“
The exhibition „The Little Man in the Great War“, dedicated to the World War I centenary, was inaugurated by the President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and the Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov at the National Museum of Military History.
„This is an exhibition in which the emotion prevails – a place where the things that we learn are overpowered by the ones that we hear and experience, a place where the pain is consuming. There is no story for victories and defeats, but only for the silent heroism, measured by the duty fulfilled to Bulgaria“ – stated the director of the museum assoc. prof. Sonya Penkova PhD. She expressed her gratitude to the entire team that created the exhibition and to the National Committee for the commemmoration of the First World War centenary that assisted the realization of the exhibition.
The President of the National Assembly pointed out that a different side of the war may be witnessed within this exhibition – not the heroic one but the sad one, a real picture that needs to be remembered by the generations to come, so they could know what it used to be and what it could be again. The Minister of Defence stated that we must know all sides of the war and expressed his hope that more young people will visit the exhibition and will remember what the price that normal people pay at war is.
